Hi, I know I said I was going to try to be more consistent with writing on here but I think my new consistent is monthly posts. A lil update once a month to tell you all the things that have been going on in my life.
Think best friends catching up over coffee. So, I guess grab a drink of your choice and let’s chat!
The month of April, in recap.
Boy that month seemed fast and slow at the same time. It is such a weird feeling to have such (sorry I need to interrupt this sentence to let you know that above my head on the roof a really healthy sized squirrel just jumped and must be looking for something to eat, he/she/they are making a loud ruckus…okay back to our regular scheduled programming) both of those sensations at the same time.
In the month of April I got to celebrate the older kiddo I nanny turning three. Her party was so cute and so fun and watching her experience her first party (because you know this thing called covid was happening during the first two) was such a special experience for me. I truly feel such a special bond with the kiddo and she is my little buddy. It has been so amazing to watch her learn and grow into such an intelligent, kind, caring little human.
If you are new here you probably don’t know this but I was recently put back on anxiety meds, which I think is great. If you need help, get the help you need. Anyway, it reached the month mark of taking my happy pills and let me tell you, my whole life truly feels different. If you don’t struggle with mental health you don’t know how exhausting simply existing can be. I am a person who is so energetic naturally and it was hard for me to even get out of bed. My energy levels are back, I’m dancing in my kitchen again, I squeal with joy at things, I laugh at hard moments, I take a deep breath if I feel worked up about something and I don’t start to spiral. I took pictures of myself from the day I started my pills to current time, and you can watch me faking a smile, to gradually meaning it, to now seeing me glow and the smile reaches my eyes. Life is good and I am so grateful!
I started to make my way back into stores and run errands. It feels great to participate in normal activities again.
I got to spend a good amount of time with my niece Madilyn and she is so cute. Her smile is one of the best things I have seen in my life. All gummy and toothless. I also got to see my grandma multiple times and catch up with her, she is so sweet and I love her so much!
My realty firm, Oxford Realty, acquired another firm in town so now we are the second largest firm! I am so proud of my broker, who also happens to be my cousin, and all the hard work he has put into our company! It is so cool to have the person you work under be so passionate and excited about what they do!
Speaking of realty, I closed on my very first house!! As excited as I am to have that accomplishment for myself, I am more excited about the fact that I got to help someone with that type of purchase. I helped someone get what they wanted with their hard-earned money. I got the opportunity to help someone with one of the biggest purchases they will make. I got to watch someone be excited for what the future holds for them. I got to help someone invest their money. My job is pretty cool. Realty is a job that feels like one of those dream scenarios, I mean yes there are obviously parts that might seem stressful in the moment or like everything is moving so quickly or slowly but it is so fun and it is honestly one of the coolest things I have ever gotten to do. Deciding to ask my cousin if he thought it would be a good idea for me to get my license was one of the best questions I have ever asked.
April was busy, fun, exciting. I learned many things and enjoyed every second of it. I love feeling like myself again and learning about what sets my soul on fire.
I look forward to what is ahead for me on my journey and I hope you are excited for what is ahead for you.
Sorry I just hogged all the talking time, please tell me something that is new or exciting or something you’ve been working through.
I would love to hear from you.
Until next time,
