It’s funny how things can change. The nature of life is change, but sometimes it still surprises me.
Don’t get it wrong, I love change and think it’s extremely important, but sometimes when I think about it it’s a weird thing.
For example, how can someone who used to be such a big part of my life not mean anything to me now? I am talking about a childhood friend who we just naturally went separate ways and that was that. In my youth she meant the world to me and now I see her name every once in awhile.
Or how can I have such different thoughts and opinions about things than I used to? I truly wanted to be sick as a child. I thought it made me cool and I wanted to be on as many prescriptions as possible and I wanted to eat the junkiest food I could. And boy, was I sick for most of my early life. Now I want to be as healthy as I can be and not be on meds and fuel my body with the most nutrient-dense foods I can. I feel like a whole new human.
I sometimes feel like I didn’t start living my life until I was about 22 years old. By that math, I’m coming up on my 3rd birthday. I feel like I have been learning and growing as much as I possibly can in the past three years and it almost seems like those three years actually are longer, in the best way possible, than the first 22 years of my life.
I think it’s important to check in with yourself as often as you can to make sure the situations you are in are making you happy and it’s what you want. Sometimes we get a clouded view of things because of outside input or wanting something to work when it won’t, but take a second to reflect. Only listen to your inner voice and see if your life is making you happy.
I believe we all have the power to make changes in our life to live the life we want. Are you showing up for yourself so that you can look back at your life and realize that you did that for you? You made that life for yourself and you chose to do the things you wanted to do and saw the things you wanted to see?
What you wanted a few years ago could very well be the exact opposite of what you want now, and that’s great!
Your life is not meant to be the same thing day in and day out with no changes in opinion.
You learn; you grow; you evolve. Change, baby.
That is the basis of life.
I challenge you to take a good hard look at your life and everything in it. Dive deep and ask yourself if you are living the life you choose and want to live.
Be brave enough to make any change that you see fit.
Live the life you choose.
Until next time,
